Course description:
The course describes the basic concepts of radiation protection related to radioactive waste. Other elements: definition, classification and evaluation of waste, official regulations related to radioactive waste. Sources of radioactive waste generation. Elements of waste processing technology and management: collection, storage, transport, volume reduction technologies, conditioning technologies. Analytical procedures for waste management. Issues of interim and final disposal of radioactive waste.
