Arrival by plane
Take a taxi to town from the exit of your terminal at the Liszt Ferenc International Airport. A taxi ride to Budapest downtown should cost around HUF 10.000,- (EUR 25,-). A cheaper option is miniBUD, the official airport shuttle service of the airport.
Arrival by bus to Népliget
Taxis park by the bus station, price is about HUF 3.500,- (EUR 9,-). If you prefer public transportation, then take metro line M3 to Kálvin tér. Change there to metro line M4 in the direction of Kelenföld vasútállomás. Get off at Szent Gellért tér and walk down the Budafoki street to the Institute.
Arrival by train
You can always find a taxi at the main entrance of the railway station. You can also take public transportation. A single ticket is valid for ONE ride on ONE bus or tram line; with a single ticket you may change only between metro lines. Here are the ways you can get to the BME Institute of Physics: From Keleti railway station: take metro line M4 (green signs) to Szent Gellért tér. From Nyugati railway station: take metro line M3 to Kálvin tér (direction Kőbánya-Kispest). Change to metro line M4 in the direction of Kelenföld vasútállomás. Get off at Szent Gellért tér and walk down the Budafoki street to the Institute. From Déli railway station: take tram 56 to Gárdonyi tér. The BME Institute of Physics is in walking distance from Gárdonyi tér (see map below).
