The course provides an introduction to spectroscopic measurement techniques. The concept of spectrum, examples. Theoretical foundation of optical emission spectroscopy, prism, diffraction slit and drid, dispersion. Prism and diffraction grating spectrometer setup. Practical realisations. Absorption spectroscopy. Fluorescence spectroscopy. High resolution spectroscopy. Fabry-Perot interferometer. Michelson interferometer and Fourier spectrometer. Heterodyne spectrometer. Acousto-optic spectrometer. Laser spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy. Dynamic spectroscopic methods (transient absorption, emission, scattering). Optically detected magnetic resonance methods. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy Mass spectroscopy and its application areas. Gamma and beta spectroscopy.
