The of this course is to give the students insight into particular fields of moder theoretical physics. They attend the seminars of the Departmentf of Theoretical Physics or those of the individual research groups. The course is worth two credit points. We recommend it primarily to the students involved with research in the Department of Theoretical Physics.

1. Semniar series of the Department of Theoretical Physics

Topics: A wide range of topics from modern theoretical and experimental physics

2. Seminar series of Exotic Quantum Phases research group
Time: Tuesday 2:15 pm
Location: Seminar room of the departments, first floor F.III.
Topics: Modern solid state physics, quantum informatics, quantum statistical physics, nanophysics.
First seminar: September 13, 2016.

Attendance: Students have to attand at least 10 occassions per semester. Verified by the instructor.
Grading: In connection to one of the talks the students have to either give a journal club talk (25 minutes) or write a short essay (6 to 10 pages).
